Governance Structure

Hope and Help Society’s supreme decision-making organ is the Board of Directors (BOD). The Board of Directors makes all key policy and structure decisions of the organization considered final and binding. It formulates and approves policies and organizational systems and evaluates the overall performance of NGOs on a periodical basis

The BOD is constituted of a Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, and 4 Executive Members. The board of directors comprises development professionals, intellectuals, academicians, and activists. The Executive Director is a member of the board and serves as secretary in the Board meetings. The BOD draws policies regarding human resources, programs, financial issues, and administrative procedures. It has an overall supervisory role but does not engage in the day-to-day running of the HHS programs.

Management

The day-to-day activities of HHS are run by a Secretariat comprised of paid and volunteer staff led by the Executive Director who is also an ex-officio member and Secretary of the BoD. Other core members of the Secretariat are the Programs Manager and Finance and Administration Manager supported by a host of other staff based on the number of programs running and the capacity of the organization to meet the salary costs at any given time.

Following decades of relative decrease, violent conflict is on the rise, with projections indicating that by 2030, more than half of the world’s impoverished will reside in violently afflicted nations. The program helps to create inclusive, cohesive, and peaceful societies by drawing on knowledge gained from working on peacebuilding since 2016, trends, and verified best practices in the area and the Hope and Help Society’s strategy.
